Glenvar Celtic Classic Festival of Bands

SALEM, VA -

This afternoon, 17 high school bands from all over our region met up at Glenvar High School in Salem.

They all came out to take part in the Celtic Classical Festival of Bands. Glenar's Band Director says getting the opportunity to play in front of such a huge crowd at their home stadium is a big deal for the Highlanders.

"It's a big deal. These kids usually don't get to perform for that big of crowds," says Zach Sweeny, Glenvar's band director. "Being a small school, our football crowd isn't that big and being a small band, when we perform at other contests the crowd is smaller. So performing at this contest we get to see the biggest crowd we see in a year."
