Police investigating death in Salem

Salem Police are conducting an ongoing investigation regarding a death at the McDonald's on the 1200 block of West Main Street last night in reference to a shots fired call.

It happened at 7:35 p.m. Sunday.

Shortly after arrival, fire and rescue personnel pronounced an individual dead on the scene.

Police have ruled the death a suicide, and the identity of the suspect is not being released at this time.

We don't normally report on suicides, but because this is in a public location and we've received a couple of calls about it, we wanted to let you know.
