Virginia Tech senior launches King for a Cause

Posted: Updated:

Voting for the homecoming court at Virginia Tech is underway and one senior hopes to give the crown away if he wins.

Chris Atkins is campaigning to become homecoming king, but not for himself, instead a 7-year-old boy fighting leukemia Nathan Orban.

Chris is a member of Farm House Fraternity and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society is the non-profit the organization supports, so he found a little Hokie outside of Richmond he wants to give the crown to.

"I've truly had a blessed collegiate experience and homecoming is one of the ways to end your collegiate experience and so I wanted to give back," explained Chris.

"He's missed out on so much and I think this one day is just going to blow the socks off of him," explained Emily Orban, Nathan's mom.
