Hiring Our Heroes event coming to Wake Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. -

More than 45 employers are expected to participate in a "Hiring Our Heroes" job fair Oct. 8 in Raleigh.

The event, which is open to veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience, will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Wake Tech Community College's Northern Wake Campus.

In addition to both large and small employers, the event will also include a free GE employment workshop that features one-on-one mentoring sessions on resume building, job search tools, and interviewing techniques for all job-seekers.

hiring event is being held in partnership with the Greater Raleigh Chamber, WorkSource North Carolina, The American Legion, the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service, the North Carolina Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Since Hiring Our Heroes began in March 2011, more than 1,200 companies have hired 20,200 veterans and military spouses as a result of more than 610 hiring fairs.
