GREENVILLE, SC -

Five people have been hospitalized after a car flew into a house in Greenville County.

Lance Corporal Tony Keller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that a juvenile, whose name cannot be disclosed due to his age, was driving a Nissan sedan west on South Washington Avenue when he drove off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and tree and then hit the home.

The driver of the car and four passengers, including three juveniles, were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

The extent of their injuries were not immediately available.

A woman who lives at the home was not at home at the time of the wreck.

Keller said that the juvenile was charged with driving too fast for conditions and violation of a beginners permit.
