List of parks & historic sites closed in our area because of government shutdown

With the weekend just around the corner, you might have been planning to go to a park or historical site in our, but with the recent government shutdown some are now closed.

The gates are closed at Booker T. Washington national monument in Franklin County.

Those furloughed employees even posted a message ex planing the national park service facility is closed because of the federal government shutdown.

Mabry Mill is also closed, where school leaders at Hillsville Elementary had to cancel a planned field trip.
