Today the first ever Noke-A-Thon took place at Roanoke College. This is their version of the popular "Dance-A-Thon" event that hundreds of Universities across the country take part in every year.
More than 200 students, about a tenth of the student population, have been dancing since 11 a.m. They will continue dancing until 11 p.m., hoping to raise money for Children's Miracle Network.
"We were looking for something to bring our campus and all of our students to come together for a good cause," says organizer, Lynsy Yoder. "And we thought what better way than to help the kids out at Children's Miracle Network, so that's why we decided to do Noke-a-Thon."
The exact amount of money raised will be kept a surprise until the event ends this evening, but they were hoping to break $8,000.
