Teen charged in fatal Raleigh traffic collision

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A teen has been charged in a fatal crash that occurred just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Spring Forest Road and Hollenden Drive in Raleigh.

A motorcycle being operated by Joseph Alles, 54, was traveling east on Spring Forest Road and a car operated by Reychel McGregor, 19, was traveling west on Spring Forest Road before the collision.

McGregor attempted to turn left onto Hollenden Drive and hit the motorcycle operated by Alles and a passenger, Wendy Sparta, 48, according to Raleigh police.

Alles and Sparta were taken to WakeMed, where Alles later died as a result of his injuries.

Neither McGregor nor a passenger in her vehicle, Ana McGregor Thorpe , 44, was seriously injured.

McGregor was transported to the Wake County Detention Center, where she was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, failure to yield the right of way and operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license.
