Roanoke County Police talk with the community about preventing crime. The department held its National Night Out event this evening to help promote partnerships with families.
"It's tremendous because it's a relationship we maintain with them and we can't do our job without the support and encouragement from them," says the head of Roanoke County's crime prevention, Officer Rick Crosier. "We depend on them for their assistance to help us. They're our eyes and ears to criminal activity."
The event got pushed back a few months later than usual because of personnel changes.
