The Roanoke City is looking to attract new businesses to Peters Creek Road.
Last year the city bought more than 11 acres of property along the road to build a new library, but recently those plans changed.
Now Roanoke's Economic Development Office is tasked with developing the property.
Director Wayne Bowers said this spot is different than what the city usually works with, but it has a lot of potential.
"We have our industrial park, which is suburban in nature but is pretty well focused. Most of our other sites are in downtown," he said. "This is a unique site and a unique opportunity.
Bowers said interest has been light so far, but he expects the right business will find the Peters Creek location attractive.
