Roanoke City police ask for public's help in armed robbery

ROANOKE -

The Roanoke Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who is responsible for two recent business robberies.

On October 10, 2013 at 9:44 p.m. officers responded to a report of a robbery at a business in the 1300 block of Patterson Avenue.

The suspect in picture #1 entered the business wearing a  hooded jacket, mask, blue jeans and black shoes. The suspect brandished a handgun at the clerk and obtained an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register of the business and fled on foot.

The second robbery happened on October 15, 2013 at 1:42 a.m.

It happened in the 1800 block of Memorial Avenue.

The suspect matches the same physical description as the first robbery, wearing a hooded jacket, mask, blue jeans and black shoes. 

The suspect in picture #2 brandished a handgun at the clerk and fled on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of money out of the cash register.  If you can help detectives identify the suspect, please call Crime Line at 540-344-8500 or the Roanoke Police Department at 540-853-5959.
