The day saw Secretary of Commerce Sharon Decker speak about the future of jobs in North Carolina. Gov. Pat McCrory was also on hand for the celebration. Wake Tech celebrated its past and future today on the main campus.

The celebration was the culmination of the year-long 50th anniversary commemoration.

The day saw Secretary of Commerce Sharon Decker speak about the future of jobs in North Carolina. Gov. Pat McCrory was also on hand for the celebration.

He joined other leaders in the groundbreaking of a new administration and classroom building.

Stephen Scott, president of Wake Tech, said, "One out of eight adults in Wake County, ages 18 to 65, was enrolled at Wake Tech last year."

He says Wake Tech has been instrumental in sending qualified labor into the Raleigh area workforce.
