After record rainfalls hit Roanoke this summer, the city is still looking for ways to prevent future flooding from happening again.
The City of Roanoke will hold a public meeting about Peters Creek area flooding on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Fire Station #13, located at 4330 Appleton Avenue, NW.
City staff will discuss floodway and floodplain issues around the Peters Creek Road area as well as the history of the Peters Creek watershed.
Roanoke officials are looking at the possibilities of funding these flood prevention efforts through grant opportunities.
They will also be discussing ways to continue cleaning up debris and future floodplain mitigation activities
