More than 1,500 folks made it out this morning for American Heart Association's 21st annual heart walk.
Myself and Deet Reed emceed the event together.
We had a great time introducing the award winners and this year's chair Carilion Clinic's President and CEO, Nancy Agee.
Red cap survivors Anne Barge and her husband Greg say they're both extremely proud to take part in this event every year.
"It just means so much to us. We're proud and happy to be survivors. We're just happy to be a part of it. It touches us in many ways and we're big supporters of it," explained Anne.
Saturday's event raised more than $255,000 for the American Heart Association.
Organizers are hoping to reach the $300,000 goal by the end of December.
