RALEIGH, N.C. -

A local preschool had children test several toys and then choose which one they liked the best.

But in this survey, it will be less-fortunate kids who benefit in the end.

The Goddard School in Raleigh was one of 38 Goddard Schools around the country who let the kiddies decide the top toys of the season. Goddard had the kids whittle a larger list down to 10 toys.

"They have to be safe, they have to be age-appropriate and there has to be a learning component built behind it," explained Malay Jindal, who owns the school on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh.

The school's Facebook page will soon let the public narrow the 10 toys down to just one, which will be announced as Voted #1 in The Goddard School Preschooler-Approved Toy Test in November.

The Goddard School will then purchase 100 of the winning toys and donate them to Toys for Tots.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that gives out holiday gifts to less fortunate kids.

The Goddard School Top 10 Preschooler-Approved Toy List will be put to public vote via social media from Nov. 1 to Nov. 26. People can vote once per day and they can find out the voting information on www.goddardschool.com/toytest.
