EventZone sees high attendance during Party in the Park

BOTETOURT COUNTY -

EventZone's Party in the Park just wrapped up its first season in Botetourt County and they're already beginning preparations for 2014.

The event saw a much stronger turnout than expected this summer with between 500 and 750 people showing up for the Thursday night shows at the Daleville Town Center.

Now they're looking to grow by adding more local bands and mixing in country artists.

EventZone Development Coordinator Jenn Schultz said the combination of old and new faces made the transition to Botetourt County successful.

"We had a lot of the same people who went downtown, but a lot of people around here appreciated having an event that they could bring their families to and enjoy in their neighborhood," Schultz said.

EventZone is aiming for 1,000 people on Thursday nights in 2014.
