    Lynchburg Police are investigating after a man went to Lynchburg General Hospital's Emergency Room with stab wounds. On Saturday around 6:30 a.m. police were called to the hospital.Michael Payne, 33 from Lynchburg, had with several stab wounds to his chest and stomach. Payne told officers was visiting a friend in the 1200 block of Peirce Street when he was attacked and stabbed by Jamel Owen Davis, 29 from Lynchburg man.     The Virginia Tech defense lost a slew of seniors from a nationally ranked unit--leaving plenty of room for upcoming stars to shine.
         The Virginia Tech defense lost a slew of seniors from a nationally ranked unit--leaving plenty of room for upcoming stars to shine.

  Virginia Tech fell to Duke 13-10, but the Hokies first conference loss hasn't derailed the team's ACC title hopes.  The win moves Duke to 2-2 in the league, with both losses in the Coastal. Should the Hokies win out, defeating Boston College, Miami, Maryland and Virginia, they would finish with one conference loss--and win all the tiebreakers. Only a second loss puts that in jeopardy. The Hokies senior linebacker says nothing changes despite the loss. They were going to have to win out anyway. He says the only thing this loss does is motivate the team to get back on the right track.  Here are the ACC standings after this weekend:
