The 24-year-old Danvers High School teacher who was killed last week will be laid to rest today in Andover, Massachusetts. The family of Colleen Ritzer has set up a scholarship in her memory to help high school grads pursue a teaching career.

Classes resume today at Sparks Middle School in Nevada just one week after a student opened fire. Teacher Michael Landsberry was killed and two students were hurt.

The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech is celebrating the official public opening of its galleries tonight from 6-8 p.m.. The public is invited to take a look inside.

The Huckleberry Trail Bridge between the New River Valley Mall and Merrimac Road in Blacksburg will be closed today to replace the bridge deck. It's expected to re-open Friday.

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will give hunters an education course tonight from 6-9 p.m. at the Catawba Center in Roanoke County. The course is free, but registration is required.

Carilion Clinic is hosting Points on Joints tonight at 6 p.m. at the South County Library in Roanoke. It's a free seminar focusing on joint care and surgical options.
