CARTER COUNTY, TN (WJHL) - Carter County deputies continue the manhunt for one of the gunmen suspected of firing random shots into 5 different homes Monday night near the Carter/Unicoi County line, injuring two residents.

Michael Brummitt, 43, is already in custody and has been charged with five counts of reckless endangerment by discharging a firearm into a habitation, two counts of aggravated assault and evading arrest. Investigators are still trying to find the second suspect, Tommy Brummitt.

Both men fired shots into five homes in the area of Scioto Road, Dry Creek Road, and Brummitt Lane. The shooting spree ended with two people injured, sending one woman to the hospital. Authorities say both victims sustained only minor injuries.

Investigators found a black truck abandoned on Brummitt Lane.  The truck matched the description given by witnesses of the vehicle from which shots were being fired. Deputies secured 3 different weapons from the scene but Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes tells News Channel 11, Tommy Brummitt could still be armed.

If you have any information that can help police locate Tommy Brummitt, please call the Carter County Sheriff's Office.
