Updates to Taylor Spatial Frame software can make recovery easier for patients.

Carilion Clinic Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Trevor Owen specializes in computer driven prescriptions for patients who can benefit from the technology.

He says, "The shortest period of time a patient has used it has been 2 months but I have had some patients wear the frame for over a year."

Taylor Spatial Frames are often used when other procedures have not worked.  12-year-old Halla Roberts broke her leg in four places playing soccer. She did not heal properly from the first procedure. Dr. Owen suggested trying the frame. After wearing it for 3 months her X-rays showed major improvement in her bone alignment.

The patient is given a computer driven prescription with specific adjustments that are to be made daily to the device.

Since Dr. Owen started using it one year ago about fifteen patients in our area have seen results from it. He has had patients travel from North Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee along with people from here in Southwest Virginia.
