Virginia -

HopeTree Family Services (formerly Virginia Baptist Children's Home & Family Services) expands its presence in Henry County by opening a Residential Care facility for at-risk girls in Axton.

HopeTree also operates a home for adults with intellectual disabilities in Martinsville.

HopeTree at Glory Road, as the facility will be known, was granted licensure as a Residential School by the Virginia Department of Education on October 29 and will immediately begin accepting placements from surrounding departments of social services.

Counseling services, personalized education, and a supportive Christian environment will provide residents the necessary means to overcome the life conditions prevent them from living with parents or guardians.

HopeTree at Glory Road will have a capacity for 16 girls ages 12-17 who have experienced abuse and/or neglect and require a higher level of guidance and supervision than HopeTree's Residential program located on its main campus in Salem can accommodate.

Although the facility is located in Henry County, the program is licensed to receive girls from all over Virginia.

For more information on the HopeTree at Glory Road program, please contact Jason Masching at 276-650-1546 or JasonM@HopeTreeFS.org or visit HopeTreeFS.org.
