Police department spokesman Scott Leamon says a nearby camera recorded the truck driving away from the 2200 block of Melrose Avenue Northwest, near the turn onto Orange Avenue, around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say a woman walking on Melrose Ave. was hit by the pick-up.  EMTs took her to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She's expected to recover.
