Danville Police tell WSLS that officers arrested a man, in connection with a robbery that ended in the death of a man from earlier this month.

Investigators charged 27-year-old Tony Ray Spivey, of Danville, with robbery and burglary on October 29th.

Officers think Spivey was involved in a home invasion robbery that took place on the night of October 15th, in the 800 block of Edmonds Street..

When officers arrived, they found 52-year-old Charles Donald Earls had been shot.  Earls died two days later at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Police have since upgraded the case from an armed robbery to a homicide investigation.

The case is ongoing.
