Virginia Tech students build another project in Alleghany Highlands

Posted: Updated:

Virginia Tech design/buildLAB students are making a difference once again in the Alleghany Highlands.

Third year architectural students are teaming up with the Clifton Forge Little League to build a new field house.

Right now, students are interviewing members of the community and conducting research to come up with the best plan for a field house that will include ac concession stand, restrooms and storage.

The Alleghany Foundation is paying for the majority of the project with a $90,000 grant and fundraising will make up the remaining amount.

Projects are selected partly based on the positive impact it can on a Virginia community.

Previous students built a farmer's market in Covington, and amphitheater and pedestrian bridge in Clifton Forge.
