Boston Red Sox players shave to make a difference for bombing victims

Posted: Updated:

"No Shave November" isn't happening for the Boston Red Sox.

Players David Ortiz and Shane Victorino shed their beards to make a difference.

Gillette is donating $100,000 to the One Fund in honor the World Series champs.

The donations are given directly to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

"The tragedies that we face as a city, and the resilience we were shown as a city, you know brought us even closer together to be one team. And uh it's uh, a storybook ending to what has happened," explained Victorino.

The beards were a symbol of solidarity as the team moved from last place to World Series winners in just one year.
