Word of Truth Ministries is working together with GFTW for typhoon victims

Gleaning for the World is collecting needed supplies for typhoon victims.

Whether you live in Roanoke, Bedford or Lynchburg you can help.

Word of Truth Ministries is working together with Gleaning to help in the devastation.

Supplies started coming in as soon as they opened at noon Tuesday.

"As I was watching it on television the lord was laying it on my heart and I saw the great need of those in the Philippines with the bodies and the devastation of the water being polluted," said Minister Norman Hackley.

"We decided that it may not have happened to us, but we're all brothers and we're our brother's keepers," explained Pastor Richard Edward Dent.

If you would like to help the supply drives are through Thursday at the Sam's Club on Wards Road in Lynchburg and the Bedford Walmart from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day.

Volunteers will be set up Wednesday at the Kroger in Forest from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Donations are also being accepted at the Walmart on Old Forest Road in Lynchburg until Friday each day from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

In Roanoke Word of Truth Ministries on Peters Creek Road will take donations from noon to 5 p.m. until Thursday.

Items needed include -

Rice

Hand sanitizer

Flashlights and batteries

Baby supplies (powdered formula, diapers)

Personal hygiene products

Powdered milk

Cough, cold and fever reducing medicine

Canned meat

Towels and washcloths
