Gov. McCrory to host Q&A on Facebook page

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Gov. Pat McCrory, for the first time, will host a question and answer session on his Facebook fan page Monday.

McCrory will visit Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., Monday afternoon to tour the campus, and meet with executives and employees from North Carolina.

At 5:30 p.m. (EST), he plans to host a live Q&A session from the headquarters on his Facebook page.

The event will be the first time that the governor has hosted a Q&A on Facebook.

McCrory also plans to visit Google in Mountain View, Calif., Monday morning.

Google has a data center in Lenoir, N.C., which employees 110 people on site. The company also recently selected the American Underground in Durham as one of seven Google for Entrepreneurs Tech Hubs around the United States and Canada.

Earlier this year, the company announced it would invest $600 million in its North Carolina data center, bringing its total investment to more than $1.2 billion at its Caldwell County campus.

Facebook also has a data center in North Carolina. About 40 full-time employees work at the Forest City campus, which is comprised of two 370,000-square-foot buildings.
