ROANOKE, VA -

Many of you are thinking about what Christmas card to send out this year.  As you start planning, there are cards with a mission.

Roanoke Rescue Mission:

William Kohler started printing Roanoke themed cards more than a decade ago and doesn't plan on doing another round. There are eight different scenes from around Roanoke showing landmarks like the star and trains.

40% of the sales ($12 for a pack of 8) help the Roanoke Rescue Mission Fralin free clinic,    providing more than $2.7 million in services like dental and healthcare to thousands of patients last year.

"It's really neat. the Rescue Mission of course is a great opportunity for those that are less fortunate," said Kohler.

"It's a gift to you because it's a wonderful feeling, It's a gift to your father or your mother or your friend but you're also giving to the Roanoke Rescue Mission and those in need which is above and beyond," said Kelli Brown, the Roanoke Rescue Mission 2nd Helpings general manager.

You can pick the cards up at 2nd Helpings in Roanoke.

Ronald McDonald House:

The Ronald McDonald house also in Roanoke has an annual card.

This year's card is by local artist Marie Campbell and features a sledding scene. The inside message reads: "Warmest wishes for peace and joy during this Holiday Season and the coming year!"

The package of Holiday Cards (includes 25 Cards & Envelopes) is $18 and can be purchased at the house, by calling (540) 857-0770 or online at www.rmhc-swva.org

All proceeds from Holiday Card sales benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia.

Feeding America Southwest Virginia:

Feeding America Southwest Virginia also has a new holiday card, a 1927 tractor in the snow.

They are made by local watercolor artist Carol Nelms.

You get 20 cards for $20.
