ROANOKE -

The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will stop in Roanoke this afternoon on it's way to Washington D.C.

It will be stationed on Franklin Road between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street from 4-6pm.

The 88-foot Eldermann spruce is currently making it's way across the United States.

It comes from Colville National Forest in Washington state and will arrive at the capitol building on November 25th.

The event is open to the public.

Everyone is also welcome to sign the banner that's been traveling around the country with the tree.
