RALEIGH, N.C. -

All of North Carolina was cheering for her as Kat Robichaud made it to the Top 10 on NBC's "The Voice," but on Tuesday she was unfortunately eliminated.

Saturday, her husband, Guillaume Robichaud, organized a surprise for the rising star as she returned home after a whirlwind month on the show. Kat was greeted with loud cheers from dozens of her biggest fans at the OC Bar & Grill.

She said the last few months have been a dream come true -- capped off Friday night with one more item being crossed off her bucket list.

"'The Voice' flew me out to New York and put me up in a really nice hotel, and I had a limo drive me around the city," Kat said. "I was supposed to leave after my interviews with the Today show and MTV were over on Thursday afternoon, but Amanda [Palmer] wrote to me and said, 'I see that you're in New York. We're playing a show tonight and we'd love for you to come and sing with us.'"

The North Carolina native was invited to perform on stage with her idol Amanda Palmer, of The Dresden Dolls, at Town Hall in New York City. Kat was the "last special guest" on "An Evening with Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman," during which she performed The Dresden Dolls' "Delilah" alongside Palmer.

"This has been a dream of mine for years, to meet Amanda Palmer and to tour with her," Kat said. "She and [Palmer's husband and novelist] Neil Gaiman have been so incredibly supportive."

Guillaume Robichaud said of his wife's time on "The Voice," "It's bittersweet, because you know she wanted to go as far as she could."

Self-professed "biggest fan," Phoebe Sjostedt said, "In my eyes she's always going to be a winner to me, no matter where she goes in life or what she does. She's going to be a winner and she will take this experience and run with it."

As for Robichaud's future, she said she's now going to focus on her music career.

"While I was up there [New York City], my lawyer flew up, and we had a bunch of meetings trying to get some good direction with which agencies to go with. Should we sign with a label? So we're figuring all that out right now, and it's very exciting." Kat said.
