Here's what's going on ‘Round Town for November 29th to December 1st:

You can see model trains at the Bedford Museum and Library Friday. The annual display draws thousands every year. Each day a different engineer runs their own trains making each day different. The museum will be collecting new and gently loved stuffed animals for the Teddy Bear Brigade for Gleaning for the World.

The 33rd annual Roanoke Valley gem show is at the Salem Civic Center Friday through Sunday. Adult tickets are $4.50 adults and16 & under are free.

Stop by downtown Buchanan Friday or Saturday for the annual Christmas merchants open house. Enjoy carols, thousands of tiny white lights, red velvet bows and fresh evergreens. On Saturday enjoy an old fashioned tree lighting at the Buchanan town hall at 7:00.

Franklin County lights the courthouse Christmas tree Friday. The event is from 5-6:30 in Rocky Mount.

Lexington holds its annual candlelight processional and tree lighting at Hopkins Green. The processional forms up at 5:15 p.m. at the Main Street entrance to the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery and travels down Main and Nelson Streets.

See the boat parade on Smith Mountain Lake Saturday. From 7-9 p.m. watch boats decorated for Christmas. Virginia Dare leads the parade helping raise toys for local children in need. It cruises to Halesford Bridge and back.

Catch a Christmas parade on Sunday. Join locals in downtown Rocky Mount for the old-fashion Franklin County Christmas parade starting at 3 p.m.

Your pets can get a picture with Santa on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. All pets must be contained or on a leash.
