Posted: Updated:

The Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue says a severely malnourished horse brought to them at the end of November is starting recover.

The horse is named 'Chad' and was found starving by two Franklin County Public Safety officials.

In a little over a week, the horse rescue has helped Chad gain more than 34 pounds! Before, he had a hard time standing and volunteers say he was basically skin and bones. The rescue workers say he's doing much better, but they can still use donations to make sure he fully recovers.
