Savannah Day has successful surgery

Posted: Updated:
Savannah Day, the 14-year-old girl from Troutville who collected more than 4,000 toys for children in the Cincinnati Children's Hospital has successfully made it out of surgery.

Despite undergoing brain surgery during the holidays, Savannah wanted to make Christmas brighter for more than 500 children who would be in the hospital with her.

She has been fundraising for months now trying to collect 500 toys, but after learning about her story she gained massive community support. Her donation totaled over 4,000.

Her family posted on facebook Thursday afternoon that Savannah is recovering through surgery and had no complications.
