NASHVILLE, TN (RNN) - The Vanderbilt Commodores will try to push their home record to 6-1 when they welcome the Austin Peay Governors in Nashville on Tuesday.

The game is Vanderbilt's (5-3) first game since a Dec. 5 victory against the Marshall Thundering Herd. Austin Peay (5-5) won their last game, a 77-71 victory at home against the Liberty Flames.

Vanderbilt hopes to have more control over the Governors. After fending off the Thundering Herd for most of the game, Marshall had several chances to tie and take the lead, finally losing 69-67.

The game is the 15th meeting against the two schools, with 13 of them played in Nashville; the last meeting was on Nov. 10, 2007 when the 81-67 win for the Commodores. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series 13-1.

Senior guard Travis Betran is the leading scorer for the Governors, with 13.9 points per game this season.

Vanderbilt is led by sophomore guard Eric McClellan, who averages 16.5 points per game and 33 minutes per game.

Tipoff at the Memorial Gym is 8 p.m. CT and can be seen on ESPN3.com and CSS.
