Rantankerous [ran-tank'uhr-us] (adjective) - A combination of rant [to speak in a wild or extravagant manner] and cantankerous [contentious, disagreeable]. The word is the only suitable description for the epic arguments between Brian "What We Learned" Tynes and George "Hot Reads" Jones.

(RNN) - In case you have never noticed, most of the all-time great quarterbacks have awesome names - Joe Montana, Warren Moon, Y.A. Tittle.

But having a catchy moniker doesn't always predict a legendary career in the NFL. Just ask Tony Romo and Byron Leftwich.

Bowl season starts this weekend, so we begin making our selections of winners. While one of us makes educated predictions based on research of stats, the other picks in a similar manner to his 60-year-old aunt.

Also this week: The Heisman race could have been an even bigger blowout than it was. Derek Jeter's hospitality has its limits, and that limit is your wireless device. Finally, NFL kickers will probably never have a stronger defense for their relevance than this past week.

Include arguments of your own in the comments section below.

Don't worry. We'll be a lot nicer to the players in the SEC than the Emmy voters were to Netflix. We kind of have to - it's highly unlikely an actor could power clean the equivalent of a human being.

The Heisman Trophy has gone to a virtual unknown for the last few years - this list could prove that trend falls apart in 2014.
