KNOXVILLE, TN (RNN) – The Tennessee Volunteers fell victim to the North Carolina State Wolfpack's hot streak on Wednesday, losing 65-58 at home.

It was NC State's (8-2) sixth consecutive win and Tennessee's (6-4) first home loss of the season.

The Volunteers got behind quickly to the Wolfpack as they opened the game with a 19-11 run. Tennessee trailed the entire game, and was behind by as many as 17 points at the opening of the second frame.

Despite completing 75 percent of their shots from the free throw line, the Volunteers went 20-of-68 from field goal range and a dismal three-of-24 from 3-point land.

Guard Jordan McRae was the leading scorer for Tennessee with 21 points, four rebounds and three steals. Forward Jeronne Maymon scored 17 points and a team-high 16 rebounds.

Tennessee will host the Morehead State Eagles in their next game on Monday, Dec. 23.
