Happy's raises money for Roanoke boy fighting stage four cancer

Posted: Updated:
An event at Happy's Flea Market Saturday helped a Roanoke boy fighting stage four cancer.

Seven-year-old Naeshawn Allen-Jefferson has a mass in his brain and kidney. Money from the 'Soul Santa' event at Happy's is helping his mother pay for medical bills.

Kids from our area were able to meet and have their pictures taken with Santa. Fees for the pictures and a spaghetti lunch, as well as all donations are all going to help Neshawn.

"Just giving back, putting smiles on the kids faces and on the adults. Just giving, the gift of giving and that's what we all love doing with our community," Constance Smith says.

This is the second year for Soul Santa. Event organizers are already making plans to continue it again next year.

A Suntrust bank account has also been opened in Naeshawn Allen-Jefferson's name too.
