Christmas is over and today is the day many people will head back to the stores returning those unwanted gifts. In order to make your return process a little easier, Consumer Reports suggests checking the return window and whether holiday gifts get an extension. Certain items carry a restocking fee, which is common for electronics. Also, some things like video games and movies can't be returned once they are opened. Kiplinger's Personal Finance suggests that you take your photo ID to the store as some retailers ask for it...especially if you don't have a receipt.
