A local bake shop will make it a little easier for you to stick to your New Year's resolution to cut back on sweets.
Bubblecake, which is known for its cupcake creations, is introducing a new mini treat starting today. The minis are smaller than the shop's signature cupcakes and its babycakes. The bite-size cupcakes will cost a dollar and come in an assortment of flavors and will be part of the stores permanent offerings.
"A mini is enough if you're diet conscience or if you're on a fitness program and you just want a little taste," said Bubblecake owner Lisa Lusk. "If you don't want to spend too much or it's great if you want to sample a variety of flavors and you don't want to pack on too many calories while you do it."
Bubblecake minis are available starting today. Lusk says she'll have at least eight varieties on the menu each day, including its popular red velvet and crème brulee.
The locally owned shop has two locations in Roanoke and one in Christiansburg.
