COLLEGE STATION, TX (RNN) - After a close first half, Texas A&M pulled away from Arkansas, taking down the Razorbacks 69-53 in their SEC opener on Wednesday.

The Aggies (10-4, 1-0 SEC) played a close game with Arkansas (11-3, 0-1) for the first half, with the Razorbacks leading by as many as four points. But Texas A&M pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 19 points, aided by the Aggies' 10 steals and seven blocks.

Texas A&M shot 41 percent from the floor, 41 percent from the 3-point line and 67 percent from the free throw line. The Razorbacks, meanwhile, made 36 percent of their field goals, 21 percent of their 3-pointers and half of their free throws.

Davonte Fitzgerald led the Aggies with 17 points while Fabyon Harris and Jamal Jones added 15 and 14 points, respectively. Alex Caruso led with 11 assists, four steals and two blocks.

Rashad Madden led Arkansas with 12 points and two steals. Mike Qualls, averaging 13.7 points per game, added only two points.

The game snapped the Razorbacks' seven-game winning streak and was their first true road game of the season.
