Radford Open Big South Play by Rallying Past Liberty

     RADFORD, Va. (AP) - R.J. Price scored 18 points to lead Radford over Liberty 72-63 on Wednesday.

    Radford (11-5, 1-0 Big South) got 13 points from Ya Ya Anderson while Rashun Davis and Javonte Green both chipped in 12 points. Despite shooting just 39 percent, including a woeful 4 of 21 from beyond the arc, Radford made 12 more free throws than Liberty to make up the difference, including 7 of 8 from Price.

              

    Liberty (6-10, 0-1) was led by John-Caleb Sanders with 12, while Tomasz Gielo, Andrew Smith and Davon Marshall all had 11 points in the loss. The Flames shot 45 percent from the floor.

              

   Liberty jumped out quickly to a 19-6 lead, but Radford chipped away and led by two, 35-33, at the intermission. A Sanders layup tied it at 35 1:24 into the half, but Radford then went on a 10-2 run and never trailed again.
