Southwest Virginia testing new Girl Scout cookie

Posted: Updated:
ROANOKE, VA -

Girl Scout cookies are on sale now for $4 a box. There are two new cookies this year.

The gluten free chocolate chip shortbread is being tested across the U.S. and we're one of the test markets.

The other new one cranberry citrus crisps has cranberry bits and citrus flavors.

"I give a kind smile, kind gentle voice and confidence," said Brianna Wilson who sold more than 1,000 boxes last year.

The Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council has $3.5 million dollars in sales every year. The sales teach them things like goal setting, money management and confidence.

Last year's top seller Adelia Moau sold more than 2300 boxes.

"I always have to smile so the people I'm selling to feel like I really love selling Girl Scout cookies because I do. I always have an order sheet and if I can I always have Girl Scout cookies ready," said Moau.

You can find cookies online or download the "cookie finder" app for your smartphone.

Also this year when you buy five boxes of Girl Scout cookies you're entered into a drawing to win a year's supply of cookies!

You can get cookies until March 31.
