Keep that 2014 health promise

We spent some time at Coots, Cross, Lavinder and Quinn Family Dentistry in Daleville talking to employees about their motivation for health in the office. 

Danielle Brugh and Tara White started using giant exercise balls for chairs about three months ago.  They say the type they purchased is for people who are 6 feet to 6.6 feet tall.

Dr. Alicia Hollis, Carilion Clinic D.O. says, "These exercise balls are great.  They help us stabilize our core muscles and when we do that we are less prone to back injury because we have a stable core.  We burn more calories when we are just standing or washing dishes because we have a strong core and muscle burns more than fat."

Dr. Hollis says we should also get good rest.  She recommends going to sleep at the same time every night and limiting tablet and smart phone use at least a half hour before bedtime.

Also, add more fruits and vegetables to whatever you are already eating for health benefits.  When we add more fruits and vegetables we increase our fiber and water in take which helps us stay fuller longer.
