RALEIGH, N.C. -

The SPCA of Wake County celebrated Friday as a cat that has been in and out the SPCA for five years finally has a home.

Delta, who arrived as a stray in 2009, has been adopted, the SPCA said. Delta had previously been adopted, and then returned, twice.

The animal that has been at the SPCA the longest without a break is Hailey, a cat who has been at the SPCA for two straight years.

Hailey is almost 15 years old and her owners gave her up when they moved overseas.

"We're all rooting that she'll be the next one adopted!" wrote Darci VanderSlik of the SPCA.
