Woman charged in connection with Carroll County shooting

CARROLL COUNTY -

A woman has been charged in connection with a Sunday shooting in Carroll County.

Around 2:00 p.m., the Carroll County Sheriff's Office received a call at the intersection of Carrollwood Drive and Carrollton Pike for a possible gunshot wound.

When deputies arrived they found a man lying on the side of the road with a gunshot wound.

He was air-lifted to North Carolina Baptist Hospital. The condition of victim is unknown at this time. The name of the victim will be released once all family members have been notified.

Pamela Denise Peaks, 47, has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of firearm in the commission of a felony.

The investigation is still ongoing. More information will be released as the investigation continues.
