Vinton investigates homicide from Sunday afternoon

VINTON -

Vinton Police responded to 305 Cedar Ave. in reference to suspicious circumstances on Sunday, January 26th around 12:30 p.m.

Shortly after arriving at the home, officers found a deceased female in the bedroom of the home.

An investigation has led to the arrest of 29-year-old Dean Austin Selbe, who was a resident of the home and was on scene when the officers arrived.

He's been charged with first degree murder in the death of Karen J. Selbe, who is the mother of the accused and also a resident of the home.

It is being considered a homicide and an investigation into the cause of death is being conducted by the medical examiner's office. 

Dean Selbe was taken to the Roanoke County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
