Roanoke organization to package hundreds of thousands of meals

Posted: Updated:
Because We Care Ministries needs your help sending out 200,000 meals in one day.

When we stopped by the gym at First Baptist Church in downtown Roanoke it was full of preschoolers playing on a cold day, but on a Saturday in April 12th hundreds of volunteers will pack in there to put together 200,000 meals for folks Roanoke all the way to Petersburg.

Organizers are calling the event Family of Faith.

“All the food we package, all 200,000 meals, are going to go somewhere on April 12th. We're going to come in at 9 o'clock that morning to start packaging the food, we're going to loaded up in the trucks, it's going to somebody that day,” explained Dr. Don Gillette, Because We Care Ministries.

BWCM is looking for about 400 volunteers and $40,000 to pull off Family of Faith.

If you would like to volunteer or donate log on to their www.bwcm.org or email Donald@bwcm.org.
