Appomattox man wanted for murdering his wife

Appomattox County Sheriff Barry Letterman says the department is investigating a murder.

It happened at 4:30 p.m. at the Quik-E gas station on Court Street in Appomattox County.

According to Sheriff Letterman they are looking for Aubrey Evans III, 69 for shooting his estranged wife 45-year-old Laura Woody Evans.

Laura Woody Evans was sitting in her car at the Quik-E mart when she was shot.

Right now they aren’t sure of Evans whereabouts.

Evans is wanted for first-degree murder, shooting in an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in commission with a felony.
