A circus performer was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after his motorcycle crashed into a wall during the act.
Roanoke Civic Center General Manger Robyn Schon says it was the final act of the Kazim Shrine Circus. Three motorcyclists perform during the last act.
She says Roanoke EMS on staff immediately started treating the performer and he was taken to the hospital.
"The bike was broke into two pieces," said Tamara Sutphin who says she was sitting in the area where it happened but didn't see the accident. "The circus crew went to check on him and made everyone leave. The overhead lights were off during the event. Everyone was told to leave quickly."
There are no updates on his condition.
All shows are ongoing but the motorcycle act has been canceled.
