ELIZABETHTON, TN (WJHL) -

A woman who was featured Monday night on News Channel 11 has been captured. The Elizabethton Police Department says after the airing of our story, officers received information about the whereabouts of a woman who caused a crash a year ago in Elizabethton that left three people seriously hurt.

Stormey Shepard, also known as, Stormey Thurman was found and arrested Monday night for the outstanding warrants.

Shepard was indicted by a Carter County Grand Jury with two counts of vehicular assault, Elizabethton Police said.

The wreck happened just before midnight February 1, 2013 on the Elizabethton Highway near Happy Valley Memorial Park. Police said Shepherd crossed into the westbound lane of traffic hitting another car head-on. The driver and passenger as well as Shepherd were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

"Based on the initial investigation and evidence on the scene, alcohol was believed to be a contributing factor in the crash," said Capt. Joy Markland. "Results from a blood alcohol examination later confirmed that Shepherd had a blood alcohol level of 0.09."

Leading up to our Most Wanted broadcast, Markland said police have not been able to find Shepherd to serve her with the arrest warrants.
